COFFEE AT NINE

December 22, 2021. Nine days left in this month. This day is one of a kind, the 2nd last Wednesday of the year so I am hoping it is going to be great! I noticed my morning visitors were already busy with their routine as I looked out my front window this morning. Next, my usual, (regardless of season or weather) I opened my front door and took in those first few deep breaths. Don't ask me why, but this works for me. Instantly!

Sometimes the sting of how drastically things have changed since COVID-19 hits me hard, but I still try to write every day, even though my main coffee corner has been beside my front window or my kitchen table. I miss my corner tables at my favorite coffee shops terribly! Especially those who faithfully offered me something to write about. Rarely a day went by where my inspiration came innocently through someone.

I am fortunate I have so many things on the go at home...always. However, at times I will just binge read. Ever do that? I've read a lot of inspirational books with quotes and a few have stayed with me. A few years ago, I did some research on women who really made an effort in changing lives and opinions. I have always loved the one I discovered that Eleanor Roosevelt spoke about:

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

We all need a little bit of dream time. I hope you, my Reader will give yourself that opportunity...Even if it's short.

This is one quote I recently found by this Lady and it says a lot! LOL! Now she spoke out on this one at a conference somewhere in the 1950's! Shocking!

"A woman is like a teabag...You can never know how strong she is until you put her in hot water."

Well that spoke volumes to me. It was serious yet carried with a humorous tilt.

Women today juggle home, careers, children, shopping, day care, cooking, making those important games and planning parties and sleepovers...just to mention a few! WHEW!

I am not in any way saying Dads do less because I know many fantastic ones, but I am writing about the single Mom or Caregiver situation and who is depended on to hold everything together. I would say they've been through the teabag process. So my heart goes out to all of you parents, grandparents and caregivers as well, everywhere. These are trying times for families. You are essential beyond words. Give yourself a 'timeout' to catch your breath and refresh.

I'm not sure I will ever look at a teabag in the same way again!

I hope this day has given you someone who has an ear to hear something you need to share, or perhaps you will be the listener...

Till next time, enjoy your coffee (or tea) wherever you are. Blessings from Lane.
