COFFEE DATE AT EIGHT!

December 23rd, 2021. The countdown continues.

Last night I happened to come across an old photo album...black & white. Talk about a trip down Memory Lane. I specially noticed the cars and fashions that my generations of family wore. Here is one of my Aunt & Uncle & my gorgeous sister, Lorna w/me in my brand new winter coat. LOL! (She will love me for this one!)

I've always loved old fashioned things & have written many blogs about my old treasures handed down through generations but I must confess I LOVE MODERN TECHNOLOGY TOO! Why? Because for one of the reasons... I have a new state of the art coffee maker which lets me set the time before I go to bed. First the birds bring me to awareness of early morning outside my window even though its FREEZING cold. Next, Little Alice Cooper, my feline boss walks all over me to make her way to the window sill in order to watch them. Then I wait a few more minutes snuggled under blankets until that aroma drifts across the hall. I am awake and I smell the coffee!

Alice of course knows that with MY coffee comes HER breakfast! Then I grab my phone and open the door ASAP. I can't take any risks of missing something! After all, my long standing motto is about giving myself a clear slate each morning so I have lots of room to fill up this new day. This morning the sun was so brilliant I needed my sunglasses from the doorway. Once again I notice my yard has been a high traffic area already. All shapes and sizes of little critter footprints have visited and continued on their own missions for the day. They begin every day fresh and new, full of energy! Why can't I do that I ask myself?

As I wrote #96 of 101 Blessings: Today is ours with a clean slate and the rest is not promised. Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery & that's why they call today 'the present'. I call it my gift.

I really want to savor these last days of 2021. Dear Reader if you are feeling uneasy about a situation that's been on the back burner awhile and perhaps today you could have the opportunity to fix it, then do it.

It is also for your own sake and you will enjoy your day much more and you deserve to give yourself the best day or moments whenever you can. I hope the sun is shining wherever you are (or raining in your part of the world if needed). While you enjoy that hot beverage I am sending out a wish for peace and joy in your day.

Till our next coffee, stay strong and safe. Blessings, Lane.
