COFFEE FOR TEN

Updated: Dec 22, 2021

That is the number of days left in December, 2021! I am finding it really difficult to wrap my head around the fact that 2021 is almost over! It certainly has been a year like no other as we are still experiencing so many new and difficult situations...Hurdles we never thought about before although we also are learning how valuable simple things do matter as never before.

It has always been this way since time began but I have never been quite as aware of it as I am this year. Probably because I've taken the time and interest about our Winter Solstice. I would like to share from a post that my friend Sis posted on Facebook.

THE WINTER SOLSTICE

Begins on December 21st and marks the first day of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. A time of new beginnings, where we honor the gift of light.

The Northern Solstice is about going inward, while the Southern Solstice is about going outward.

Take this time to slow down, mull over your responsibilities and turn your focus towards shining your own light brighter.

Close the chapters of this year, embrace the next, allow its many blessings and surprises to flow into your life.

Certainly was something to think about while I enjoyed coffee this morning. I actually went outside all bundled up and sat there to drink my coffee which remained deliciously hot in my thermo cup and savored every sip of it. (So glad I left a few of my chairs out there). The air was dry and definitely crisp but not unpleasantly so. It just felt extra great to be out today to give the 21st of December a salute.

What really hit me in a big way this morning was the fact that I had a choice to be inside or out in that crisp fresh air. I thought about all of the people who are shut in without that choice for receiving that breath of fresh air. It made me realize the size of my blessings and I was so thankful for the simplest joy of sitting out there having my cuppa coffee on this first winter day. I hope your day has been a good one and that your evening will be peaceful. I hope you've had time in this day to have a break and taken a few moments to treat yourself to something you like, separated from all the pre Christmas rushing around. Remember you are important so be kind to yourself.

Blessings, Lane

Thank goodness the days are getting longer! Each year I'm super cognizant of the lengthening and shortening of the days. For me, the shortening of the days is a bit of a sad time. But once it changes direction, WEE HAAA! 😂 I am, very much, a day person! 😊
