COMPANY FOR COFFEE

Sounds good to me anytime. During spring, summer & fall If I'm not working on my front deck...you can search for me amongst my plants. There is something soothing working with new or older plants. They all need attention, some TLC...similar to people. There are no two flowers exactly alike, again like people. However, as different as my plants are...they have similarities about care. They need some light if they've been in a dark place. Someone to be that little ray of sunshine and warmth. A cool refreshing drink will revive them if they are dry and wilting from heaviness. Perhaps some of the leaves and finished blossoms are clinging on as extra baggage and need to be lifted off. A change of scenery...Moving to a sunny or shady spot just a short distance could change the tempo. As I write this, a person's been put on my heart. Like the plant I am hovering over, I feel this person also needs some TLC and my phone just happens to be right beside me. On the third ring I hear the answer in a downhearted tone. I asked a favor. "I'm not sure how to arrange all these pots that I've brought into the house for the winter. Could you spare an hour?"

"Is there coffee?"

"Of course."

"I'm not in a very good mood but I can offer cinnamon buns & I need to tell you about some new stuff that has popped up unexpectedly. Have you got time to hear my complaints? I need to air out. Is that ok?"

"Coffee will be ready when you are." Although we cannot change everything at once, we still can change something...for someone...one thing at a time. Everyone needs that 'go to Person. Maybe I can't help much to make a difference but I can listen with all my heart. If each one of us did one thing every day by answering one persons call for comforting advice or an ear to hear...Think of the difference that could bring. It really is possible to make a difference. I better leave at this point. I have a table full of plants. This person is a great decorator and it wont take long before all these potted beauties will look like they've always been there. Then we chat for as long as she needs. Today there is time.
