HOURS TO JANUARY 01, 2022! YES!!!

For some of you who are reading this it’s a matter of hours away & our Family in Greece & Australia are way ahead of us… but others may not see it till after midnight or tomorrow or the next day, so here it is… HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!!

I am looking forward to blogging regularly, adding to my site & sharing my new work with you while it’s in progress to finished. I really welcome your feedback.

For today… It is New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2021!!!

A few years ago on New Year’s Eve and into New Year’s Day I got my inspiration to write my first novel: 101 BLESSINGS! It was different from anything I'd written & I'll always be thankful that I took that journey out of my comfort zone. So for me January is kind of a special month in spite of the weather & stormy long nights. I completed the first draft by the end of the month, and my only breaks were my long walks all bundled up. I studied my surroundings and took tons of photos of nearly the same things but tried to catch my subjects in different lights and angles. I loved it. When I got home I was ready to hit the laptop and the words came easily for most of the 101 blessings. I will always remember that January.

Not everyone has a favorite winter month but for me it’s January. I figure these months are here to stay so I may as well pick a favorite and find some things that are good about it. As I had written in my blessings book, ‘tough winters are us’ out here on our Canadian Prairie.

By the middle of the month you can really notice how those few minutes a day add up to almost an hour of daylight extra… I am following the daily reports of the sunrises & sets & will continue to share at the end of my blogs. It is quite fascinating to monitor the added minutes per day. Everything goes back to a quieter routine after the Christmas and New Year’s hustle and bustle. When I walked my daily coffee route & dressed properly, I really got to know & appreciate how brightly the sunlight in January is after a long winter storm.

Take care and keep safe wherever you are and please keep the weather as your safety guide as well.

Thank you for reading my blogs and hope you will continue to find them interesting because I love doing them. Until ...'next year'...Wishing you all the best, Lane.

January is my kind of special month, too. But just before that I usually try to enjoy the end of the year with a beautiful, special lady (Audrey). We stay up and remember the past year and cuddle.
