IT'S COFFEE TIME SOMEWHERE

Updated: Dec 22, 2021

This morning when I arrived at the lake I watched the moon gracefully leaving. Its night shift was done. The sun has arrived and soon the span across the snow covered lake will be a dazzling display of colours. Everything except white...The snow is never stark white! Its remarkable how many

shades are in snow. As I watch this early morning miracle rise before me, the steam from my coffee fogs my glasses. All part of the experience. Now into the warmth of the coffee shop.

Meeting friends or new faces that can become friends at our local Coffee Corner, is never a boring routine either. There's always news, whether great or sad, sometimes disappointment over a circumstance or a heartbreaking loss of recent. That's when coffee time becomes serious and very valuable to the one across the table. 'There's a time to laugh & a time to cry'. When I walk in the morning stillness I always ask the Lord to show me if there is someone in need and give me wisdom to help. Most of the time, listening is the help they are seeking and I am always humbled and honored that they trust me enough to share their burden with me. I'm sure you know someone who needs your shoulder, some consoling or encouraging words today. Ask yourself this while sipping that hot beverage..."Who can I meet up with or invite over for a visit today?" I know everything is limited and we are all trying to stay strong and safe. Trust your heart and spirit that you will be shown what is needed, then do it if it is possible for you and are available. Remember the harvest is plenty, but sometimes the workers are few. You are essential today. When I pass by someone who seems as though they are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders, all I can do is whisper: "Blessings, please follow this person today." It is most difficult during this time of Covid to send a smile someone's way because of our masks so at least they feel noticed but I always try a "Good Morning!" I hope there is enough warmth in my voice that will reach that person. They are essential.

Have a great day wherever you are. I'm sure there's coffee to warm you up & perhaps you are picking up for someone whom you feel is essential in your life. Till next coffee time, blessings, Lane
