RISING ABOVE THE CLOUDS

MARCH 20th, 2022 Welcome Canadian Sunrise today, the 1st day of SPRING! What a beautiful and welcome sight. The photos are especially for my Dear Readers who may not have had the opportunity to walk down and see it 'Live'.

As I walked towards the lake this morning, it was 'partly cloudy' according to the weather reading but I headed out anyways because I was depending on the word 'partly'. I counted on my glass being half full ... not half empty and I wasn't disappointed. When I arrived the clouds were on the horizon over the lake but the brightness behind them reminded me that we are never in complete darkness. The sunrise WAS happening as it does every morning since time began!

Coffee was great, it was still relatively quiet...but not for long. The Sunday morning coffee cravers arrived and the chatter throughout the shop was invigorating!

I had my thermo cup ready to go again and saw the first rays of sunshine as it burst free from the clouds. Everyone was in Springtime mode and wishes of 'Happy Spring' were passed around generously. I don't believe I've ever noticed that much excitement before. All I could think of was how we have been lifted from the dark clouds of a long difficult winter, which wasn't just about the weather. It was the long separation, grief for those loved ones, lack of complete freedom to travel and even the ability to come and go locally. Plus the constant dark cloud of concern over loved ones or ourselves contracting the virus. Although it is far from over, the change of weather is going to help everyone's morale a great deal. I can certainly say it's already working on mine. We must still be careful and considerate, however chatting outdoors is now much closer to becoming possible!

Yes, there's something to be said about a 'Canadian Sunrise' for us Prairie Dwellers. The words to the song titled the same by Prairie Oyster pretty much sums up the way I feel about our sunrises. I took the liberty of making it a bit personal.

*****

'World tired, bone weary,

Can't stand another day of Rain (snow in our case)...

Shouted troubles to the mountains, but the mountains

Echo back 'It's the same old shame'.

I'm Cryin'....

Give me a sign...Give me a sign...

(here is mine)

'However rough the road, however dark the sky...

My frozen soul will melt like April ice

When that shot of gold hits my eyes....

Canadian Sunrise!"

*****

Here is a thought I would like to leave for you today, my Dear Coffee Shop Readers. I believe with all my heart that it is never too late to dream new dreams. They may not all come through for us but there is equal hope...if not more ... In believing with hope...that they could.

Enjoy your few quiet moments whenever you can and allow yourself to: 'Imagine'.

Until next Coffee time, enjoy your day and thanks for reading. I welcome your comments all the time.

Blessings, Lane

The sun going down reminds me of the song by AC/DC - Back in Black. Smash Mouth had some good sun songs like - Then the Morning Comes or Walking on The Sun and who could forget The Everly Brothers - All I Have to do is Dream. Thx for helping me remember these. :)
